Regular Season Round 9: Carolina - Bayamon 85-99

An interesting game for Vaqueros (7-0) which played road game in Carolina against 3rd placed Gigantes (3-4). Leader Vaqueros managed to get a 14-point victory 99-85. Vaqueros dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Gigantes' 30. Vaqueros had a 39-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. International point guard Angel Rodriguez (180-92, college: Miami, FL, agency: Shark Sports Management) nailed a triple-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists for the winning side and Jamaican-American power forward Adrian Uter (201-84, college: Hofstra, agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!). Four Vaqueros players scored in double figures. Jose Ortiz came up with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and international forward Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-94, college: Towson) added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Gigantes in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Vaqueros have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 7-0 record. Loser Gigantes dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Ponce and Fajardo. Vaqueros will meet Grises (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Gigantes will play against Mets in Guaynabo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
