Round 9 most important game was a victory of Cangrejeros over 6th ranked Atleticos 92-71 on Thursday night. The game without a history. Cangrejeros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Cangrejeros outrebounded Atleticos 48-35 including 35 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American Thomas Robinson (208-91, college: Kansas, agency: Network Sports International) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (201-89, college: Texas St., agency: 011 Sports) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Cangrejeros players scored in double figures. Nigerian power forward Alade Aminu (207-87, college: Georgia Tech) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and American point guard Tjader Fernandez (178-94) added 17 points and 4 assists in the effort for Atleticos. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cangrejeros maintains third place with 4-4 record behind leader Bayamon, which they share with Quebradillas. Atleticos at the other side keep the sixth position with five games lost. Cangrejeros is looking forward to face Leones (#5) in Juana Diaz in the next round. Atleticos will play on the road against the league's second-placed Brujos in Guayama and are hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
