We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Carolina where one of their biggest challengers Gigantes (3-5) were defeated by fifth ranked Mets (3-4) 119-102 on Saturday. Mets made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. Mets had a 39-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Gigantes' players. American-Dominican forward Angel Nunez (203-91, college: S.Florida) fired a double-double by scoring 26 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American point guard David Stockton (180-91, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 21 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Mets players scored in double figures. International forward Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-94, college: Towson) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and naturalized American Wil Martinez (188-92, college: Fairmont St.) added 33 points (!!!) respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mets have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Fajardo. Gigantes lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Mets will meet at home Cariduros (#5) in the next round. Gigantes will play against the league's leader Capitanes and hope to secure a win.
