Regular Season Round 1: Lagomar - Danubio 71-67

Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Montevideo: Lagomar and Danubio. Lagomar won against visiting Danubio 71-67. Lagomar made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 26 Danubio turnovers. Naturalized American Reque Newsome (203-81, college: S.Indiana) nailed 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Martin Perdomo (178-95) accounted for 11 points and 6 steals. Argentinian swingman Sebastian Alvarez (185-89) came up with 23 points and 5 steals (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and forward Nicolas Andreoli (197-0) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Danubio in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
