Regular Season Round 11: San German - Mayaguez 98-110

There was no surprise in San German where 6th ranked Atleticos (3-7) were defeated by second ranked Indios (6-5) 110-98 on Monday. Indios made 31-of-38 free shots (81.6 percent) during the game. Indios had a 30-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for international guard Jaysean Paige (188-94, college: WVU) who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!). American center Jessie Govan (211-97, college: Georgetown) helped adding 20 points and 6 rebounds. American Paris Bass (203-95, college: Detroit) responded with 42 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import point guard Tjader Fernandez (178-94) scored 16 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Indios maintains second place with 6-5 record having just two point less than leader Bayamon. Atleticos lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Indios will meet league's leader Capitanes in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Atleticos will play against Mets (#4) in Guaynabo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
