Regular Season Round 13: Quebradillas - Santurce 108-86

The game between Top Four teams took place in Quebradillas. Third ranked host Piratas (6-4) smashed 4th placed Cangrejeros (4-7) 108-86. Piratas shot 60.3 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 60.9 percentage. Piratas looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. International guard Joseph Soto (190-93) fired 20 points and 8 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. American point guard Tu Holloway (183-89, college: Xavier) chipped in 22 points and 4 assists. Four Piratas players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Denis Clemente (183-86, college: Kansas St.) produced 14 points and 9 assists and the former international guard Isaac Sosa Carrion (191-90, college: Canisius) added 19 points respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Piratas moved-up to second place. Cangrejeros lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. Piratas will meet league's leader Capitanes in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cangrejeros will play against Gigantes (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
