An interesting game for Vaqueros (12-0) which played road game in Santurce against 3rd placed Cangrejeros (5-8). Leader Vaqueros had an easy win 100-75. Vaqueros dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Cangrejeros' 28. They outrebounded Cangrejeros 40-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. Vaqueros players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a great evening for Cuban center Ismael Romero (203-91, agency: Paris Global Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 5 rebounds. International point guard Angel Rodriguez (180-92, college: Miami, FL, agency: Shark Sports Management) helped adding 20 points and 7 rebounds. Four Vaqueros players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American Frank Gaines (191-90, college: PFW) with 27 points and 4 assists and the other American import Thomas Robinson (208-91, college: Kansas, agency: Network Sports International) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Vaqueros have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 12-0 record. Cangrejeros at the other side keep the third position with eight games lost. Vaqueros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cangrejeros will play at home against Grises and hope to get back on the winning track.
