Regular Season Round 15: Guaynabo - Quebradillas 91-97

An interesting game for Piratas (8-4) which played road game in Guaynabo against 4th placed Mets (4-7). Second ranked Piratas managed to get a 6-point victory 97-91. Piratas looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international center Jorge Bryan Diaz (210-89, college: Nebraska) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. International guard Joseph Soto (190-93) accounted for 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. American power forward Diamond Stone (211-97, college: Maryland) came up with 30 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import point guard David Stockton (180-91, college: Gonzaga) added 23 points and 7 assists respectively for Mets in the defeat. Five Piratas and four Mets players scored in double figures. Mets' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Piratas. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Arecibo. Newly promoted Mets keep the fourth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Carolina. Piratas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mets will play against Indios (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
