Fourth-ranked Mets (4-8) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Indios (8-7) in Mayaguez on Friday. Indios managed to secure only one-point victory 99-98. However their fans expected easier game. Indios dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Mets' 28. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Indios made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Jessie Govan (211-97, college: Georgetown) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and international guard Jaysean Paige (188-94, college: WVU) who added 17 points during the contest. Indios' coach Flor Melendez used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American-Dominican forward Angel Nunez (203-91, college: S.Florida) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds and American point guard David Stockton (180-91, college: Gonzaga) scored 23 points and 7 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Indios moved-up to third place. Mets lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the fourth position with eight games lost. They share it with Carolina. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
