Sixth-ranked Grises (0-11) gave a tough game to third ranked Cangrejeros (6-8) in Humacao. The visitors from Santurce managed to secure only two-point victory 99-97. However their fans expected easier game. Cangrejeros shot the lights out from three nailing 17 long-distance shots on high 60.7 percentage. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. The winners were led by Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (201-89, college: Texas St., agency: 011 Sports) who scored that evening 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and American Frank Gaines (191-90, college: PFW) supported him with 17 points. Cangrejeros' coach Nestor Garcia allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds by forward Felix Rivera-Vega (201-97, college: Georgetown, KY, agency: Paris Global Sports) did not help to save the game for Grises. American point guard Ky Mauras (183-98, college: Bloomsburg, agency: Green Sports Management) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Cangrejeros maintains third position with 6-8 record having just two points less than leader Bayamon. Grises at the other side still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
