Very predictable result when D.Sporting rolled over at home Montevideo 61-31 on Sunday. D.Sporting held Montevideo to an opponent 18.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 29.4 percent accuracy of the winners. D.Sporting forced 22 Montevideo turnovers and outrebounded them 53-37 including 20 on the offensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when D.Sporting made 8 blocks. Center Josefina Rivera (177-98) notched a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the effort and Ivanna Llona supported her with 11 points and 8 rebounds. Even 13 points and 8 rebounds by forward Victoria Cardone (160-94) did not help to save the game for Montevideo. Guard Sabrina Blanco (155-3) added 4 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Montevideo's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. D.Sporting will meet at home Urunday in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Montevideo will play against Yale and hope to win that game.
