The game in San German was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Leones (8-5) played at the court of 6th ranked Atleticos (3-12). Leones defeated Atleticos 91-78 on Monday. Strangely Atleticos outrebounded Leones 41-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The former international guard Jezreel De Jesus (185-91, agency: Interperformances) notched 22 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and American-Ivorian center Deon Thompson (204-88, college: UNC, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Even 13 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists by American Paris Bass (203-95, college: Detroit) did not help to save the game for Atleticos. His fellow American import point guard Tjader Fernandez (178-94) added 16 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Leones have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Atleticos lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 12 games lost. Leones will meet at home league's leader Capitanes in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Atleticos will play against the league's second-placed Piratas (#2) and hope to secure a win.
