Regular Season Round 3: Soles - Indios 73-85

There was a small surprise in Santo Domingo where Indios (3-5) won against Soles (3-6) 85-73 on Saturday. They outrebounded Soles 38-26 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for forward Juan Miguel Suero (196-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 8 rebounds. Ecuadorian center Michael Torres (-2) helped adding 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American Nigel Jones (201-90, college: Talladega) with 16 points and Kelvin Pena (193-80, college: Southeastern) scored 14 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Indios will meet at home Caneros in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Soles will play against Huracanes (#4) and hope to secure a win.
