Regular Season Round 4: Huracanes - Titanes 86-93

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Huracanes' (3-6) home loss to fourth ranked Titanes (5-4) in Puerto Plata 86-93 on Tuesday. Titanes dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Huracanes' 38. The winners were led by American center Anthony Johnson (203-88, college: Fairfield) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds and Luis Montero (203-93, college: South Plains) supported him with 25 points and 8 rebounds. Even 19 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) by American forward William Green (201-91, college: Stetson) did not help to save the game for Huracanes. Mexican Tony Criswell (205-92, college: Missouri) added 21 points for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Titanes have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Huracanes lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. Titanes will meet at home Soles (#5) in the next round. Huracanes will play against Leones in Santo Domingo and hope to secure a win.
