Regular Season Round 4: Leones - Indios 77-72

Very predictable result when third ranked Leones (5-5) won against bottom-ranked Indios (3-7) in Santo Domingo 77-72 on Wednesday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Leones outrebounded Indios 42-26 including 31 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by forward Juan Guerrero (205-93) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and center Luis Santos (203-94, college: St.Louis) supported him with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Four Leones players scored in double figures. Even 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals by American forward Al'Lonzo Coleman (207-89, college: Presbyterian) did not help to save the game for Indios. Naturalized American forward Ronald Roberts (203-91, college: St.Joseph's, agency: Pensack Sports) added 13 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Despite that victory Leones went down to fourth position due to points difference. Loser Indios stay at the bottom place with seven games lost. Leones will meet at home Huracanes (#7) in the next round. Indios will play against Reales in La Vega and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
