The game in Carolina was also quite interesting. Third ranked Mets (8-10) played at the court of 5th ranked Gigantes (4-14). Mets defeated Gigantes 107-96 on Saturday. Mets made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Strangely Gigantes outrebounded Mets 49-30 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Gigantes' players. The winners were led by American-Dominican forward Angel Nunez (203-91, college: S.Florida) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds and Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (201-89, college: Texas St., agency: 011 Sports) supported him with 26 points. Even 28 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists by American point guard Diante Garrett (193-88, college: Iowa St., agency: Wasserman) did not help to save the game for Gigantes. His fellow American import forward Chris McCullough (208-95, college: Syracuse) added 16 points and 11 rebounds. Five Mets and four Gigantes players scored in double figures. Gigantes' coach rotated thirteen players in this game, but that didn't help. Mets have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Mets maintains third position with 8-10 record having six points less than leader Bayamon. Gigantes lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 14 games lost. Mets will meet at home league's leader Capitanes in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gigantes will play against the league's leader Vaqueros (#1) and hope to secure a win.
