Date: August 28, 2021
The game between Top Four teams took place in Asuncion. Top-ranked host San Jose (2-0) smashed 3rd ranked Paranaense (1-2) 111-77. San Jose dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Paranaense's 36. They outrebounded Paranaense 45-26 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. San Jose players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Paranaense's players. The winners were led by Argentinian forward Franco Benitez (199-94) who scored that evening 31 points and 9 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and Argentinian forward Sebastian Picton (197-92) supported him with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Even 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) by Karls Godans did not help to save the game for Paranaense. Cristhian Rodas added 10 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. San Jose maintains first position in Group A with 2-0 record. Paranaense at the other side keeps the third place with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
