Regular Season Round 24: Quebradillas - Santurce 78-102

The most important game in the last round took place in Quebradillas between second ranked Piratas (11-6) and fourth ranked Cangrejeros (7-9) on Saturday night. Piratas were crushed by Cangrejeros at home 78-102. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Piratas. Cangrejeros made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for American Thomas Robinson (208-91, college: Kansas, agency: Network Sports International) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 18 rebounds. The former international guard Isaac Sosa Carrion (191-90, college: Canisius) contributed with 24 points for the winners. American point guard Tu Holloway (183-89, college: Xavier) replied with 19 points and 5 assists (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) and international Ramon Clemente (200-85, college: Wichita St.) added 7 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Piratas. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cangrejeros maintains fourth position with 7-9 record. Piratas at the other side keep the second place with six games lost. Cangrejeros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Piratas will play on the road against Cariduros in Fajardo and are hoping to win this game.
