Regular Season Round 15: Cearense - Praia 57-75

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Cearense (0-6) lost to eighth ranked Praia (3-3) in Fortaleza 57-75 on Monday. Praia dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Cearense's 30. Praia forced 21 Cearense turnovers and outrebounded them 44-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for forward Gui Serrano (202-1) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Gabriel Cunha (188-0) accounted for 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Praia's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Point guard Pedro Lobo (192-2) came up with 16 points and Davi Botelho (-2) added 15 points respectively for Cearense in the defeat. Praia moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Flamengo and Minas. Cearense lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. Praia will meet at home Flamengo (#5) in the next round. Cearense will play against Minas (#6) in Belo Horizonte and hopes to get finally their first victory.
