Regular Season Round 5: Huracanes - Indios 105-92

Not a big story in a game in Puerto Plata where 8th ranked Indios (3-10) were defeated by fifth ranked Huracanes (5-7) 105-92 on Wednesday. Huracanes looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Bernardo Polanco (189-94) who scored 27 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Jaison Valdez (188-95) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. Forward Juan Miguel Suero (196-93) produced 21 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized Spanish forward Edward Santana (203-80) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Huracanes went down to sixth position due to points difference. Indios lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with ten games lost. Huracanes will meet higher ranked Titanes (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Indios will have a break next round.
