The game between second ranked Brujos (14-8) and fourth ranked Cangrejeros (9-9) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Brujos were defeated by Cangrejeros in a tough game in Guayama 89-98. Cangrejeros made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American Frank Gaines (191-90, college: PFW) who led his team to a victory with 27 points and 6 assists. His fellow American import Thomas Robinson (208-91, college: Kansas, agency: Network Sports International) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Cangrejeros' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International guard Jorge Pacheco-Ortiz (186-98, college: Liberty) answered with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American power forward Ben McCauley (206-86, college: NC State) added 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Brujos. Four Brujos players scored in double figures. Cangrejeros have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Brujos at the other side keep the second position with eight games lost. Cangrejeros are looking forward to face Atleticos (#6) in San German in the next round. Brujos will have a break next round.
