There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Atleticos (6-15) crushed their close opponent Grises (1-18) in Humacao 96-76 on Saturday. Atleticos made 27-of-33 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game, while Grises only scored ten points from the stripe. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Nigerian power forward Alade Aminu (207-87, college: Georgia Tech) who led the winners and scored 27 points and 6 rebounds. American Paris Bass (203-95, college: Detroit) accounted for 17 points for the winning side. Atleticos' coach used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Forward Felix Rivera-Vega (201-97, college: Georgetown, KY, agency: Paris Global Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and American Jonathan Ocasio (196-92, college: New Haven) added 13 points and 7 assists respectively for Grises in the defeat. Five Grises players scored in double figures. Atleticos maintains sixth place with 6-15 record which they share with defeated Grises. Grises lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 18 games lost. Atleticos will meet at home higher ranked Cangrejeros (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Grises will have a break next round.
