One of their biggest challengers Mets (10-12) were defeated at home by fifth ranked Gigantes (5-15) with the biggest margin this round 92-86 on Tuesday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Mets. Gigantes looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American point guard Kalin Lucas (185-89, college: Michigan St.) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 assists for the winners. Naturalized American Wil Martinez (188-92, college: Fairmont St.) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists. Gigantes' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (201-89, college: Texas St., agency: 011 Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 18 rebounds and American point guard David Stockton (180-91, college: Gonzaga) added 19 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gigantes maintains fifth position with 5-15 record. Newly promoted Mets keep the fourth place with 12 games lost. Gigantes will meet league's second-placed Brujos in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Mets will have a break next round.
