An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Bayamon. First ranked Vaqueros faced 3rd placed Indios. Host Vaqueros (16-1) defeated guests from Mayaguez (12-11) 80-76. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Indios. Vaqueros forced 22 Indios turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. International point guard Angel Rodriguez (180-92, college: Miami, FL, agency: Shark Sports Management) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds, 13 assists and 5 steals. International forward Benito Santiago (197-89, college: Cumberlands) contributed with 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. International guard Jaysean Paige (188-94, college: WVU) answered with 15 points and 5 rebounds and the former international guard Christian Pizarro (180-95, college: Miami Dade CC) added 7 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Indios. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Defending champion maintains first place with 16-1 record. Indios at the other side dropped to the fourth position with 11 games lost. Vaqueros will play against Mets (#4) in Guaynabo in the next round. Indios will play on the road against Cariduros in Fajardo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
