Regular Season Round 15: Sayago - Colon 81-61

The game between third ranked Colon (5-4) and fourth ranked Sayago (6-3) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Colon was crushed by Sayago in Sayago 81-61. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Colon's 26. Sayago looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian center Zygimantas Riauka (206-93, college: UW-Parkside) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds. Center Joaquin Jones (199-97) chipped in 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American Lenny Daniel (203-87, college: CSUN) who recorded 18 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Martin Trelles (187-96) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Five Sayago and four Colon players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sayago have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Colon at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Sayago are looking forward to face league's leader L.Borges in Montevideo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Colon will play at home against Danubio and is hoping to win this game.
