Sixth-ranked Atleticos (6-18) were very close to win a game against third ranked Cariduros (13-8) in Fajardo on Monday. Cariduros managed to secure only two-point victory 91-89. However their fans expected easier game. Cariduros made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The former international Gilberto Clavell (199-89, college: SHSU) notched 29 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and American forward Victor Rudd (206-91, college: S.Florida) supported him with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 14 points, 15 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals by American Paris Bass (203-95, college: Detroit) did not help to save the game for Atleticos. Nigerian power forward Alade Aminu (207-87, college: Georgia Tech) added 21 points. Four Cariduros and five Atleticos players scored in double figures. Cariduros have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Atleticos lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 18 games lost. Cariduros will meet Leones (#4) in the next round. Atleticos will have a break next round.
