The biggest surprise took place in Fresnillo where host Plateros (4-3) beat league's leader Dorados (3-2) 114-107 on Wednesday evening. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Plateros made 31-of-37 free shots (83.8 percent) during the game. Plateros outrebounded Dorados 42-29 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Dorados helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American swingman Aaron Valdes (196-93, college: Hawaii) fired 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Orlando Mendez-Valdez (183-86, college: WKU) chipped in 9 points and 13 assists. American-Dominican Antonio Pena (204-86, college: Villanova) produced 24 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized American Durrell Summers (196-89, college: Michigan St.) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Dorados' coach Gustavo Pacheco rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Plateros moved-up to second place. Dorados at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Astros.
