The game between Top Four teams took place in Fajardo. Second ranked host Cariduros (14-8) defeated 4th placed Leones (13-12) 123-119. Cariduros made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Victor Rudd (206-91, college: S.Florida) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Dominican guard Rigoberto Mendoza (187-92) accounted for 24 points and 5 assists for the winning side. American forward Aleem Ford (203-96, college: Wisconsin) came up with 28 points and 4 assists and American-Ivorian center Deon Thompson (204-88, college: UNC, agency: BeoBasket) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Leones in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Cariduros have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 14-8 record having just two points less than leader Bayamon. Leones at the other side keep the fourth position with 12 games lost. Cariduros will play against league's leader Capitanes in Arecibo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Leones will have a break next round.
