Sixth-ranked Grises (1-21) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Mets (11-13) in Guaynabo on Saturday. Mets managed to secure only three-point victory 105-102. However their fans expected easier game. Mets looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Mets made 9 blocks. The best player for the winners was American point guard David Stockton (180-91, college: Gonzaga) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists. Ghanian center Amida Brimah (213-94, college: UConn) chipped in 21 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 8 blocks (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American-Dominican guard Gerardo Suero (196-89, college: Albany) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Brandon Costner (206-87, college: NC State) added 25 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Mets maintains fourth position with 11-13 record. Grises lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 21 games lost. Mets are looking forward to face higher ranked Cangrejeros (#3) in Santurce in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Grises will play on the road against the league's second-placed Brujos in Guayama and are hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
