Regular Season Round 18: Tigres - Ingenieria 78-110

Bottom-ranked Tigres (0-11) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 110-78 loss to fourth ranked Ingenieria (7-5) in Chinandega on Sunday evening. They also forced 24 Tigres turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Tigres' players. Cuban point guard Osmel Oliva (180-87) scored 42 points (!!!) and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Ronald Lawton chipped in 22 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals during the contest. The best for the losing side was American Quincy Scates (198-89, college: TWU) with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Jose Ortiz scored 22 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ingenieria maintains fourth position with 7-5 record. Loser Tigres still closes the standings with 11 games lost.
