Leader Vaqueros delivered the eighteenth victory on Sunday night. This time they crushed 5th ranked Indios (13-14) 92-72 in Mayaguez. Vaqueros forced 20 Indios turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of international point guard Angel Rodriguez (180-92, college: Miami, FL, agency: Shark Sports Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 assists and 5 steals and Cuban center Ismael Romero (205-91, agency: Paris Global Sports) who added 26 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Naturalized American Melsahn Basabe (201-92, college: Iowa) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds and the former international forward Angel Matias (194-92, college: Georgia South) scored 17 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion maintains first position with 18-2 record. Indios at the other side keep the fifth place with 14 games lost. Vaqueros will meet at home Atleticos (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Indios will play against the league's leader Capitanes and hope to secure a win.
