Regular Season Round 32: Fajardo - Arecibo 86-93

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Fajardo. First ranked Capitanes faced second-ranked Cariduros. Guests from Arecibo (17-6) defeated host Cariduros (14-9) 93-86. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Cariduros. Capitanes players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Naturalized U.S. Virgin Islands point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) orchestrated the victory by scoring 32 points and 8 assists. International forward Jonathan Rodriguez (196-87, college: Campbell) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American forward Victor Rudd (206-91, college: S.Florida) replied with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Kevin Maura (173-95, college: UMBC, agency: Paris Global Sports) added 17 points and 6 assists in the effort for Cariduros. Five Cariduros players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Capitanes maintains first position with 17-6 record. Defending champion Cariduros keep the second place with nine games lost. They share the position with Quebradillas. Capitanes will play against Indios (#5) in Mayaguez in the next round. Cariduros will play at home against Leones and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
