Regular Season Round 6: Dragones - Universitarios 62-69

The most shocking disappointment of round 6 was a home defeat of 3rd ranked Dragones (2-3) to fourth ranked Halcones (3-2) 69-62. Halcones outrebounded Dragones 50-33 including a 23-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Troy Jones (201-92, college: TAMUK) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Logan Santiago (185, college: AIC) chipped in 16 points during the contest. Four Halcones players scored in double figures. Halcones' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was forward Pablo Rivas (198-94, college: NCCU) with 20 points and 6 rebounds and Gil Atencio (202-96, college: St.Clair) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Halcones moved-up to third place. Newly promoted Dragones dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Halcones will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Dragones will play on the road against Caballos (#6) in Aguadulce and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
