No shocking result in a game when first ranked Vaqueros (19-2) beat 6th ranked Atleticos (6-20) in San German 89-74 on Tuesday. Vaqueros looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American forward Kristian Doolittle (201-97, college: Oklahoma, agency: Pensack Sports) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and Jamaican-American power forward Adrian Uter (201-84, college: Hofstra, agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Four Vaqueros players scored in double figures. Nigerian power forward Alade Aminu (207-87, college: Georgia Tech) came up with 21 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Gabriel Belardo (188-89, college: FIU) added 14 points respectively for Atleticos in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion maintains first place with 19-2 record. Atleticos lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 20 games lost. Vaqueros will meet Piratas (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Atleticos will play against Grises in Humacao and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
