Very important is a home loss of third ranked Cangrejeros (12-11) against fourth ranked Mets (13-13) on Wednesday night. Host Cangrejeros were defeated by Mets in a tough game in Santurce 88-92. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Cangrejeros. Mets made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Cangrejeros 42-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. Mets looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American point guard David Stockton (180-91, college: Gonzaga) nailed 24 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (201-89, college: Texas St., agency: 011 Sports) accounted for 23 points and 10 rebounds. Five Mets players scored in double figures. American Frank Gaines (191-90, college: PFW) came up with 25 points and 5 assists and the former international point guard Filiberto Rivera (189-82, college: UTEP) added 22 points and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for Cangrejeros in the defeat. Cangrejeros' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Mets have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Loser Cangrejeros dropped to the fourth position with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
