Regular Season Round 8: Correcaminos - Caballos 86-79

LPB top team - Correcaminos (7-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked Caballos (1-6) in Colon 86-79. They outrebounded Caballos 42-24 including 17 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a quality performance of center Jaime Lloreda (204-80, college: LSU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 20 rebounds and the former international Yosimar Stewart (197-86) who added 21 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Five Correcaminos players scored in double figures. Jose Montenegro (191-98) responded with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and naturalized American Adalberto Rojas (200-86) scored 24 points and 4 assists. Caballos' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Correcaminos have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-0 record. Caballos lost fourth consecutive game. Defending champion keep the sixth place with six games lost. Correcaminos will play against Dragones (#4) in Panama City in the next round. Caballos will play on the road against Panteras in Panama City and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
