An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Guayama. Second ranked Brujos faced 4th placed Cangrejeros. Host Brujos (19-8) defeated guests from Santurce (12-12) 89-79. It was a great evening for American power forward Ben McCauley (206-86, college: NC State) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. International swingman Alex Franklin (198-88, college: Siena) helped adding 20 points and 9 rebounds. The former international point guard Filiberto Rivera (189-82, college: UTEP) responded with 15 points and 8 assists and American Frank Gaines (191-90, college: PFW) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cangrejeros' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Brujos have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 19-8 record having just three point less than leader Bayamon. Loser Cangrejeros keep the fourth position with 12 games lost. Brujos will meet league's leader Vaqueros in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cangrejeros will play against Mets in Guaynabo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
