BSN top team - Capitanes (20-7) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they beat sixth ranked Atleticos (7-22) in San German 108-90. Capitanes looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists. International forward Jonathan Rodriguez (196-87, college: Campbell) fired 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Naturalized U.S. Virgin Islands point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) chipped in 18 points and 9 assists. Naturalized American forward Phillip Wheeler (204-2) produced 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard Tjader Fernandez (178-94) added 14 points and 11 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Capitanes maintains first place with 20-7 record. Loser Atleticos keep the sixth position with 22 games lost. Capitanes will meet at home Cangrejeros (#4) in the next round. Atleticos will play against Piratas and hope to secure a win.
