Regular Season Round 3: FAS - Santa Tecla 81-54

The biggest surprise of round 3 in Liga Mayor took place in where host FAS (4-0) crushed Santa Tecla (3-1) 81-54 on Friday evening. FAS held Santa Tecla to an opponent 24.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.8 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Santa Tecla 61-30 including a 22-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. FAS looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when FAS made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was Dominican Maria Marte (180-90) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Aida Funes (171-84) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four FAS players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Dominican guard Genesis Evangelista (180-93) who recorded 27 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Keylin Murcia (161-3) added 10 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Santa Tecla will play next round against San Miguel trying to make it back to the top of the standings. FAS will try to continue on its current victory against Santa Ana on the road.
