Regular Season Round 8: Fuerza Regia - Lenadores 81-67

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Fuerza Regia (7-4) defeated 4th ranked Lenadores (4-7) in Monterrey 81-67 on Saturday. The winners were led by Nigerian-American power forward OD Anosike (203-91, college: Siena) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized Argentinian point guard Cristian Cortez (185-90) supported him with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Four Fuerza Regia players scored in double figures. Even 19 points and 5 rebounds by American forward Germain Jordan (198-86, college: Dillard) did not help to save the game for Lenadores. His fellow American import forward Jerry Evans (203-90, college: Nevada) added 14 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains first position with 7-4 record. Lenadores lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with seven games lost. Fuerza Regia will meet Plateros (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Lenadores will play against the league's second-placed Dorados and hope to secure a win.
