Regular Season Round 9: Panteras - Abejas 92-85

There was a change at the LNBP leadership position after last games. Round 9 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Abejas (8-6). They were defeated by fifth ranked Panteras (6-8) 92-85 on Friday night. Panteras looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Abejas' players. Panamanian Ernesto Oglivie (203-89) stepped up and scored 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and American guard Gary Ricks (185-91, college: Drake) chipped in 23 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Panteras' coach Sebastian Ginobili used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Michael Smith (193-95, college: CBU) with 30 points and 5 assists and the other American import forward Ryan Pearson (198-90, college: GMU, agency: Inception Sports) scored 23 points. Panteras moved-up to third place, which they share with Plateros. Abejas at the other side dropped to the second position with six games lost. They share it with Astros. They were replaced at the leadership position by Soles. Abejas will play next round against strong Libertadores trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Panteras will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Lenadores in Durango.
