Regular Season Round 4: San Miguel - L.M.Mons. 2 25-109

No shocking result in a game when third ranked L.M.Mons. 2 (3-2) crushed on the road bottom-ranked San Miguel (0-5) 109-25 on Sunday. L.M.Mons. 2 held San Miguel to an opponent 20.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 49.5 percent accuracy of the winners. L.M.Mons. 2 forced 42 San Miguel turnovers and outrebounded them 57-28 including a 23-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. L.M.Mons. 2 looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 2 passes made by San Miguel's players. The winners were led by Colombian center Diana Lopez (179-85, college: Regis Univ.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 22 rebounds and 7 assists (on 17-of-21 shooting from the field) and Monica Aristondo (163-92) supported her with 25 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 9 steals. Four L.M.Mons. 2 players scored in double figures. Even 4 points and 9 rebounds by point guard Zabdi Rivera (170-2) did not help to save the game for San Miguel. Guard Melany Sanchez (167-4) added 7 points for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. L.M.Mons. 2 maintains third position with 3-2 record having just two points less than leader FAS. Loser San Miguel still closes the standings with five games lost. L.M.Mons. 2 will meet at home league's second-placed Santa Tecla in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. San Miguel will play against the league's leader FAS and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
