The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Santiagueno's (1-3) home loss to sixth ranked Brujos (3-2) 82-100 on Sunday. Brujos dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Santiagueno's 46. Brujos forced 23 Santiagueno turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for Guyanese-American center Anthony Moe (206-90, college: Millersville) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 19 rebounds. American point guard Jeremee Davis (191-90, college: Georgia Coll.) accounted for 19 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals for the winning side. Davis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Brujos players scored in double figures. Brujos' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Santiago Esperanza (185-93) came up with 31 points and 6 rebounds and American guard EJ Blackwell (193, college: Lourdes) added 18 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for Santiagueno in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Brujos. They maintain sixth place with 3-2 record. Loser Santiagueno keeps the seventh position with three games lost. Brujos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Santiagueno will play against the league's leader Aguila (#1) and hope to win that game.
