No shocking result in a game when third ranked San Salvador (5-1) crushed at home bottom-ranked El Rapido (0-5) 107-71 on Sunday. San Salvador dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to El Rapido's 34. San Salvador forced 26 El Rapido turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by El Rapido's players. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Eddie Ishman (197-86, college: Miles) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 18 rebounds and 6 assists. Dominican guard Bernardo Polanco (189-94) accounted for 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Five San Salvador players scored in double figures. American Reggie Baker (193-93, college: BCU) came up with 9 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and power forward Giovanny Martinez added 4 points and 18 rebounds respectively for El Rapido in the defeat. El Rapido's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. San Salvador moved-up to second place, which they share with Santa Tecla. El Rapido lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Cojute. San Salvador will meet at home Cojute (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. El Rapido will play against Fantasmas and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
