Regular Season Round 4: Santa Ana - FAS 53-110

An interesting game for FAS (5-0) which played road game in against 4th ranked Santa Ana (1-5). Top-ranked FAS had an easy win 110-53. FAS held Santa Ana to an opponent 23.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 56.0 percent accuracy of the winners. FAS forced 27 Santa Ana turnovers and outrebounded them 51-37 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for FAS especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.5 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Santa Ana's players. Worth to mention a great performance of H Garcia who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 17 rebounds and Dominican Maria Marte (180-90) who added 16 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Five FAS players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Dasia McByrd (163-94, college: ONU) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws) and guard Angie Ayala (158-7) scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. FAS have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record. Santa Ana at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. FAS will play against bottom-ranked San Miguel (#5) at home in the next round. Santa Ana will play against the league's second-placed Santa Tecla and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
