The biggest surprise of round 1 in La Liga Argentina took place in Cordoba where host Barrio Parque edged Ameghino 87-86 on Friday evening. Swingman Lautaro Rivata (190-87) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Andres Landoni (203-90) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Point guard Emiliano Lezcano (187-1) produced 20 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals and forward Abel Aristimuno (195-91, agency: BIG) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ameghino's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Ameghino will play next round against strong Independ.O. trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Barrio Parque will try to continue on its current victory against Dep Norte in Armstrong.
