Quarter-Finals Round 4: Arecibo - Santurce 96-86
Date: October 16, 2021
Arecibo topped Santurce to take 3-1 lead in the series. Capitanes made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The winners were led by naturalized U.S. Virgin Islands point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) who scored that evening 19 points and 9 assists and Mexican center Gustavo Ayon (207-85, college: SJSU) supported him with 6 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Capitanes players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 19 points and 17 rebounds by American Thomas Robinson (208-91, college: Kansas, agency: Network Sports International) did not help to save the game for Cangrejeros. The former international point guard JJ Barea (183-84, college: Northeastern) added 25 points and 6 assists for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
