Regular Season Round 10: Santiagueno - Santa Ana 75-77

Seventh-ranked Santiagueno (1-6) used its home court advantage to challenge third ranked Santa Ana (7-2). The visitors from Santa Ana managed to secure only two-point victory 77-75. However their fans expected much easier game. American players dominated the game. Center Marc Montavious (206-90, college: Georgetown, KY) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 19 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Shahmel Brackett (183-91, college: UNCP) chipped in 22 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Santa Ana players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard EJ Blackwell (193, college: Lourdes) responded with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists and Xavier Eaglin (201-97, college: PVAMU) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Santa Ana have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 7-2 record having just one point less than leader Aguila. Santiagueno lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with six games lost. Santa Ana will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Santiagueno will play at home against El Rapido (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
