Regular Season Round 1: Puente Alto - Talca 65-51

Puente Alto used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Talca 65-51 on Sunday night. Puente Alto dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Espanol de Talca's 18. Franco Garrido (181-86) nailed a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and the former international guard Erik Carrasco (181-83) accounted for 12 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Puente Alto players scored in double figures. Point guard Ricardo Gomez (176-93) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and the former international Mohunir Zerene (187-94) added 16 points respectively for Espanol de Talca in the defeat. Espanol de Talca's coach rotated ten players saving starting five for next games. Puente Alto will meet at home Universidad Catolica in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Espanol de Talca will play against Los Leones in Quilpue and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
