No shocking result in a game in Santa Cruz do Sul where Minas defeated L/U Corinthians 77-59 on Monday. Minas made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Minas outrebounded L/U Corinthians 46-30 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Shaquille Johnson (194-90, college: Marshall, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Gui Pereira (192-91) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Five Minas players scored in double figures. At the losing side American Mike'L Simms (196-97, college: VCU) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and Leonardo Jacon (199-96, college: Southeastern) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds.
